This combination allows the Multicell compound to remain flexible in below-freezing conditions, wick water off the road to combat slipping on packed snow and ice while the bite particles act as microscopic studs that deliver more grip and improve braking on glare ice. This compound is molded into a directional tread design featuring 20% more (compared to WS70) block edges where Circumferential and Lateral Grooves help channel water, slush and snow away from the contact area for added control while 3-D Zig-Zag Sipes increase the number of snow biting edges. Blizzak WS80 tires offer an optimized tire footprint or contact patch with the road, helping to distribute forces evenly and effectively for better stability and control in dry, icy and snowy conditions. Blizzak WS80 Studless Ice & Snow tires meet the industry's severe snow service requirements and are branded with the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol. When the Blizzak WS80 is 50 percent worn, a tread depth indicator molded into the tread design lets the driver know that only 10 percent of the remaining tread is Multicell compound.
